Since there are no cities nearby with a forum, should the Odessa/Midland area have it's own place?

Beat away! We'll pretend it's CPR!

Seriously though, as much action, hiring and growth that's going on and the amount of people moving to the area along with the fact that it's not even remotely close to any city represented on here.... ....Heck, even CL has a section for us!

I don't understand why there isn't one already.

Default I've asked...

I posted a question for the MODs at one time asking for one, and it was rejected. It does not make too much sense to me that Tyler, TX with a population of 99K has it's own forum, while the Midland/Odessa area has 1/4 of a million residents, or 225K. Odessa alone is 109K, while Midland is 116K. Those of you in that area will just have to keep asking, or ask the folks in Tyler how they got theirs.

It has to do with volume of threads about the area. Keep posting updates and topics about the area, and it'll get its own forum. MetroMatt, Mark Senior, and a handful of other posters from the region are almost the sole reason Tyler has its own forum.

Internet volume traffic is far different from city populations.

You may request new sub-forums in the About the Forum section. It is up to Administrator, and that decision is made based on traffic. Moderators have nothing to do with this decision, although we do eat dogs and small children in our spare time.
