I would appreciate if someone could give me some informations regarding the health insurance companies in TX, which have the maternity coverage.
Thank you in advance.

guess you are talking about insurers that issue for individual policies--not through a company

have no clue--you can apply for medicaid pregnancy coverage through state dept of health and human services and see if you qualify on income

you can check wth blue cross -- I think they might write a policy like that
but it is expensive...
pregnancy coverage is one of the more "event" prone health situations--

Generally speaking, you need coverage through a group policy (generally an employer's) to get maternity coverage. Most private insurance specifically excludes it.

I have heard that this organization sells group insurance which includes maternity to its members: TSCRA: Insurance (http://www.thecattlemanmagazine.com/insurance.asp - broken link)

Scott & White is the ONLY health insurance company in Texas that sells individual plans with maternity coverage. Good luck.....I searched for a year since I am self-employed and would like to ge pregnant. My husband's work group plan doesn't cover maternity and the rider for it is outrageous and barely covers anything.

Also if you're already pregnant I think that's considered a "pre-existing condition." So you won't be able to get coverage for it if it has already happened, unfortunately.

The S&W health plan doesn't show a provider (PCP or OBGYN) within 100 miles of Amarillo. So it doesn't look like they would have coverage in the area.
