I really would love to move to the Texas area by the end of this year but Texas is soo big I dont know where to go!lol
I am a single mother so I would need somewhere it is kid friendly and very nice schools and nice neighborhoods. I would prefer apartments for now. Somewhere close to the beach or at least not far away. I am young and still like to go out so I would like it where I can go to the bars once in awhile. I really need some help on this...
PLEASE HELP ANY INPUT WOULD BE NICE

Houston has all of this. Come visit for yourself, don't listen to what all the haters may say. See it for yourself

Houston would be a good choice. Seabrook and League City come to mind for me. I lived in that area as a teenager. The area has good schools, it's on the Bay and between Houston and Galveston, and there is plenty of nightlife there and Inner loop areas of Houston. There are some good parks for kids, festivals, the Kemah Boardwalk.....

I'm on board for Houston too ... Corpus Christie would be an option too.

I know about the fun stuff in Corpus Christi, but how are the schools there?

I am not going to argue with you or compare stuff, Just want to know because it was something the op mentioned, and if they have good schools there then that would be perfect since the beaches in Corpus are somewhat better than in Galveston

She could repost this in the Corpus Forum as well. There are some school districts surrounding Corpus that are good, I've read posts mentioning them, but just can't remember off the top of my head the names. My mom grew up in Sinton, and also lived in Corpus for a time and I still have family in that area and I love it as well as Houston.

If you want to be in the good areas and good schools in Corpus you have to have money. The economy there is horrible. I was born and raised there and I left because its a dead end. Unless your loaded and can live on the beach i't not a great place to live. I have only been to Houston a few times but it would seem a better choice for a single mother and still relatively close to the beach. f you can give up the beach idea Arlington is great area. It's in between Dallas and Fort Worth, very family/kid friendly, and no shortage of job opportunities. Just be prepared for the weather and the pollution.

Well, first things first. Don't come here without a job. Seriously. There are a lot of really good cities in Texas for families and kids. But if you won't have work lined up, don't expect anything anytime soon.

Seriously. Find out who will hire you, and then move.
