TSU is also responsible for over 30% of African American pharmacist in the country. Besides, TSU could be MUCH worse; it could be Paul Quinn. The school is making huge strides to change now that they've eliminated the Open Enrollment Policy.

Prairie View all the way, son. We use to joke about TSU and the accreditation problems.

I lived there ten years ago and I'd definitely say Houston at that time, but even then the difference wasn't substantial. The culture is just a little different there. I think Houston may be slightly better in part because of its proximity to Louisiana, it has more of an entrepreneurial spirit, and because it's been more welcoming of people of all backgrounds for a longer time. Houston felt like more of a melting pot than the salad bowl Dallas appeared to be back then. (Let me stress, that's IMO before the Dallasites bite my head off!)

I don't think that's true. I've known quite a few who have made that move.

Ok, but comparing it to Rice, SMU, and Baylor is just as bad as disrespecting it. And I wasn't doing that, for example, take the avg. student from any university and compare the students to TSU's and there is a disparity, although there are worse institutions than TSU. Not that there's anything wrong with that or that there aren't any smart people at TSU. I mean its better to further your education wherever you decide to do it. I didn't mean to offend anyone, and my intention wasn't to make it seem like I look down upon TSU, because I don't.

And yeah HTownLove, I do like the bigger campus atmosphere, but Rice's campus is so nice, that I would prefer it.

This is why you can't believe everything someone tell you. Houston may have had the advantage in the past but it doesn't anymore. There is a lot of black wealth building in Southern Tarrant and Dallas County. Its going to be very interesting in the 2010 census who has the slight advantage in black wealth.

Well based off a few charts I've seen [I'm sure people have moved from Houston to Atlanta] however, more were coming to Houston from Atlanta than vice versa.
