i was going mainly with major cities here... but this is open to discussion. and in this case, I'd say Fredericksburg is worth mentioning.

its okay. Galveston keeps getting over looked often as a big suburb of Houston.

If you are including Frederickburg you gotta include Gruene. I love Gruene.

I love that music hall where Willie got his start

It's part of New Braunfels. It's like a little town from the 1800's that is restored and is now a tourist stop. It's a blast.

Fredericksburg is great. Everytime we go there we hear someone speaking German, and this is a tiny town. Luckenbach is VERY unique, too.

Galveston has potential to be a destination city, big time, but it has some serious problems to address.

That's ignorant, and unfortunately it happens too often.

1. Galveston - It's the most unique in Texas by miles; it's architecture and history is very impressive.

2. Fort Worth - The culture and atmosphere of the city is amazing considering its a fairly large city in a much larger metropolitan area.

3. San Antonio - It's downtown is arguably the best in Texas and it's history is quite interesting.

4. El Paso - It's unique in a sense that it's unlike any other city in Texas and seems to be a much more southwestern/western city than anything.

5. Austin - It's thriving and vibrant downtown area along with it's great live music scene brings it in at number 5. Also, it's beautiful and hilly setting helps.
