Please don't feel bad in "reviving" an old posting. I haven't been able to make any sort of move since my mother has been sickly and is old. She's now staying with my sister and I would love to find a place in the Kerrville area which would rent monthly for the summer. Any suggestions.

I thank all of you for help.

Emil

Kerrville is a pretty small town. There isn't anyplace in Kerrville where I would worry about a 12-year-old on a bike, much less an adult checking out apartments.

In Kerrville, by the way, nearly all the apartment buildings are managed by one management company, so you don't have to go far to check them out. It's a nice town, I think you'd like living there. Consider Fredericksburg, too.

This thread is good stuff. We are considering moving to that area in the future. I LOOOOVE Fredericksburg (clean, strong civic pride, bakery on every corner), but it's too small for me to live there. The nearest town with the amenities we seek would be Kerrville, so it's good to know there is a nice, small city nearby. That would work for me! Hill Country here we come!

My brother moved to Kerrville last September and he just loves it. Seriously considering a move there myself.

There aren't really any bad neighborhoods in Kerrville. Not in a "Don't go to the west side after dark" way. There is a drug problem here that doesn't really get talked about, since it's probably bad publicity for a community that thrives on retirees and old money. From what I've seen, Kerrville tends to save it's crime up for big things like human slave ranches and 5 person murder-suicides.
