Now, who's more popular in Texas overall? Attendance figures would suggest the Longhorns just edge it. How accurate would that be?

Sounds pretty accurate to me.

If they were to ever play a scrimmage game together the Longhorns would slaughter the Cowboys.

Beyond that, the number one team in college football couldn't beat the Cowboys, or the Bills, or even the Detroit team that went 0-16 a few years back.

90 percent of UT or any major college team isn't good enough for the NFL. They would be outplayed on every down, even by a terrible NFL team. (They are only terrible by other NFL team standards.)

Once again, Metro Matt proves himself to be functionally retarded.

The Longhorns would have an attendance advantage because their stadium seats more people. I'm pretty sure that in general the NFL is more popular, ultimately making the Cowboys more popular.

It might be pretty close though with UT being one of the most popular college athletics departments and the Cowboys being the most popular NFL franchise.

Who knows?

Yeah, it is no question that the Cowboys definately win the popularity contest. The Longhorns traditionally have a good team and a loyal following, but it cant match an NFL team. Especially not one with a legacy like the Cowboys.
