If you give up on the lot size, you might look at all of those northern suburbs of DFW. Frisco is a popular place for family-oriented out of state people to move. It's a very child centered area. New homes, new schools, and there's employment in the Legacy Plano area. Lots of corporations in that area and it's right next to Frisco.

1. Great Schools!!!--- Houston or DFW have the top ranked schools
2. Safe-- depends on what you mean by safe, the Houston and DFW burbs are fairly safe, just as safe as the smaller towns
3. Great youth sports programs and associations (Football, Baseball and softball)--Houston and DFW, one Houston team place in the top 4 for the world little league championship this year.
4. Young families----Houston or DFW are great places to start or grow a family.
5. Reasonable housing prices with 1/2 acre + lots our range is 250K--Houston or DFW
6. Good People! Everywhere in Texas.

Well if you're "white", every Texas city has suburbs where you can find your requirements met.

According to the 2006-2008 American Community Survey, the racial composition of Austin is:

Single Race: 97.7%Two or More Races: 2.3%

According to the same survey, the ethnic composition of Austin is:
It's not that white.

Anyways for the OP I think you will be able to find the stuff you are looking for in any suburb wether in DFW, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio.

There are excellent public schools in the Houston and DFW areas. But Houston ISD and Dallas ISD also have some of the worst schools in Texas. DISD may be the worst large school district in Texas. Poor academic performance and bad fiscal management.

Thanks guys, really appreciate your input. I am flying down to DFW Tuesday and checking some areas and schools all week. Looking forward to my trip and making a decision.
