I’d position the line west of Houston, right before San Antonio.

anything east of I 45, north of Houston city limits is predominantly Southern, anything west of I45, with the exception of small pockets is predominantly not...

Agreed, and I think that's a big part of DFW's love/hate relationship with it.

Technically this would lump in parts of Dallas proper and some of its suburbs, which I don't think you meant to include.

I feel as if 59 is the better divider. East of that highway and north of Houston, all you have is Texarkana, Beaumont and the rest of Deep East Texas. Places you will pretty much never hear anyone describe as anything but southern.

I've never gotten this. Aside from having pine trees, how is Houston significantly more southern than Dallas?
