We'd have some of the top universities in the Nation.

Less teenage pregnancy rates.
Less gridlock traffic.

Less jobs.

Less homeless.

No riots.

Housing could soar by 300%+ and price everyone out of the market, not currently buying.

I get what the OPs saying - it's happening to Colorado too. Californians claim they want 'better' and leave California, only to vote the new state they moved to into bankruptcy through ridiculous laws meant to penalize victims and protect criminals.

Regionalism is fading away across the U.S. due to many reasons. Expect more homogenization and less local culture wherever you go in the states. The big exception are those areas that are geographically and/or economically remote.

Very true. In California you have to work two jobs just to pay your rent. And yeah, I love chicken fried steak and a side of Texas toast.

Just ate at two exlusive restaurants in Beverly Hills - had filet mignon at one -- it was so-so. Much better meat in Texas!

I would just like to share my opinion....I think California is a pretty state but I would not want to live there prob.I think Texas has lots of pretty areas.I prefer the coastal bend around Corpus to Southern California beaches.I also prefer the climate in most of Texas.City-data encourages all additional perspectives on this thread

Although the OP did over do it a bit, he makes an extremely valid point. Most of Cali cities and counties are insolvent due to far reaching state gov workers corruption/salaries/pensions etc...and taxes. And people and Companies that can..... are leaving in massive numbers.

The truth hurts, but defend it if you can...........you cant.
