Yeah, there are at least two four-lane, divided highways leading to I-20, US 84 and US 87. 87 is now four lanes all the way to San Angelo, I think.

87 is a good 4-lane all the way to San Angelo. In addition to United, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Anheuser-Busch, Sysco Foods, Valmont and Labbatt Food Service all have distribution centers in Lubbock. Not sure how that compares to Amarillo.

Speaking as a business owner who LOVES Amarillo (because I live here) and generally thinks less of Lubbock (old rivalry) I will admit that it does seem that Lubbock is more of a hub. Several of our suppliers have their distribution points out of Lubbock. I'm a restaurant owner, for what it's worth. However, you have Affiliated Foods and a Ben E Keith of West Texas distributing out of Amarillo. So now that I type this I'm not quite sure.

I would call the Chamber of Commerce in both Amarillo & Lubbock to ask them about that. And if all things are equal - choose Amarillo! ;o)

Hope this helps.
