I was just reading another thread and am now terrified that my CA teaching credential is useless and inferior. Has anyone else been successful transferring their CA credential to TX? This really puts a damper on my plans.

there is not an automatic reciprocity of CA teaching credentials--you have to get a temporary permit to teach if you get hired and then take X number of hours of professional development and then pass a test I think...

You can call TEA (Texas Education Agency )if you have questions, that would be your best bet. They will direct you to your specific school district if questions are related at the district level.
When I moved here many years ago I had to take Texas Government and History. Somewhere down the road they indicated I needed more courses related to reading and other subjects. I did fight them as I had my graduate degree. That was that.
