In san angelo theres a meat market that sells good german sausage called Mickalicks....(not sure about the spelling) but it is good

The BEST BBQ in the entire world is in Abilene: Harold's Pit BBQ on Walnut Street. OMG! I am going there for lunch on Thursday and I can't wait!! It is a little building, and the line is out the door and into the street, and it is SO worth it!!

I haven't been in the San Angelo area long, but for Mexican food, I like
Franco's Mexican Cafe best followed by
Armenta's Cafe . For sandwiches, I like
Chef Jason's Deli & Pastries - San Angelo, TX , not to be confused with Jason's Deli, which I do like, but is not in San Angelo. The Wild Yhetti, is a spectacular sandwich. The only other place in my experience that makes sandwiches as good is a place in Tacoma WA called Magical Sandwich Makers. Both places, I swear must use magic to make such great sandwiches.
Dallas / Fort Worth Restaurants | Urbanspoon Is a great place to get recommendations as to where to eat when you travel. The link shows DFW, but really, it is all over the country as well as Australia, Canada and the UK!
Haven't been to Amarillo, so can't speak to their food.
