AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry announced the state is investing $2.1 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) in GGNSC Holdings, doing business as Golden Living, for the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Plano. This investment will create 100 high-paying jobs with an average salary of $150,000, and generate an estimated $8.4 million in capital investment.
“Here in Texas, we’ve worked to create a climate where businesses can thrive and create jobs through our low taxes, reasonable and predictable regulatory environment, fair legal system and skilled workforce,” Gov. Perry said. “Companies like Golden Living are finding that this climate, paired with investments from the Texas Enterprise Fund, have made Texas the best state in the nation to live, work and raise a family.”

Why are you laughing at it? 100 jobs compared to the tens of thousands of jobs that will be lost because of him. Stop campaigning for Perry dude. He sucks, and people that LIVE in Texas know that.

243,000 jobs added.... The governor was bragging about 1,000 people moving to Texas everyday... that leaves us lacking 122,000 jobs a year. Not to mention all the regular Texans that move into the workforce everyday...

$2.1 million more in corporate welfare while the public education system (which already sucks rocks) is facing huge budget cuts and large numbers of teacher layoffs. Gotta love it.

I would think a company that generated over $2 BILLION in revenue in 2009 could afford to move to Plano without taking taxpayer dollars. This, like the million dollar taxpayer gift to Frito-Lay, are prime examples of why the TEF and the TETF need to be defunded.

You are clearly unaware about the REAL issues in Texas, except for the little news clippings you read from all the way over in France. Same old, same old from you. Texas has one of the highest budget shortfalls in the NATION. Percentage wise, we are only 1% behind California's budget crisis. Yeah, Perry is doing SO good for the state. So good, that even many Republicans are now turning on him after he had been reelected again. And you say Texans know that, but FAIL to realize that he didn't even get a majority of the vote. Perry won with his percentage in the 30s. There were too many candidates, and last year, not enough people voted. Perry would have been gone if the Democrats could have gotten their base to vote.

What do you think about the deep cuts in education in Texas, while corporations are getting tax breaks, state judges all got raises, etc., while teachers will be getting fired and classrooms are going to swell in size. How do you feel about Perry's new law requiring women who want an abortion to receive a sonogram and hear the baby's heartbeat. In fact, this is one of Perry's "emergency bills", yet helping the working class isn't one of them. Would like to hear you opinion on these things.

100 new high paying jobs = more sales revenues / property taxes for Texas = $2.1 million getting back in Texas pockets quickly, and much more in the long run.Study economics guys

Which is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. This state has bigger issues. I'll ask again:

LOLZ. Yes this is a good thing. But let's not forget about the declining education system, is Texas going to have to rely on bribing companies to relocate their high paying jobs here since Texas is on pace to be the largest uneducated and poorest state.
