Hi, everyone,

I am attempting to plan a bachelor party weekend this June. My friends and I are looking for a lakehouse on Possum Kingdom Lake that can sleep 10-12. Other lakes wouldn't be out of the question, but PK is preferable.

I have been on Lakehouse.com and VRBO, along with a few other websites, and have found them severely lacking. Does anyone know of any other lakehouse rental websites that are a) reputable and b) not a huge pain in the ass to use.

Thanks! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Parker

I'm not familiar with the area, but here are some links I came up with that might help. It is possible too that some real estate agents might be involved in cabin/cottage rentals if it is a popular area.

Possum Kingdom Chamber Of Commerce: Cabins

Possum Kingdom Real Estate by RE/MAX Possum Kingdom

Rock Creek Camp at Possum Kingdom Lake - Cabins The family cabin is ugly, but it might work.

Try http://vrbo.com We've never rented a house on PK, but have used it for other lakes like LBJ and have had good luck.

I've owned lakefront property in the past, and even considered renting it on weekends and to vacationers. But if someone called wanting it for a bachelor party, my rates on my little 2BR - 1BA cabin would be as follows:

One night - $3500
Weekend - $6500

Deposit - $25,000

Is that a nice lake? It reminds of that great (but very dark) song by the Toadies...

Doesn't paint a very attractive picture, does it? But the song sure rocks!! Hope you have a nice getaway.

Very nice lake. We used to go on Indian Guide family camp outs there with our son's. Also had a family reunion there once. We stayed at some horrible little hotel on the water. Location was good, hotel, not so much.
