Who can we contact to fight this tyrannical attack on personal freedom, and the freedom of Texas businesses?

Should we contact our state senators and representatives?

What groups are out fighting this attack on liberty and how can we support them?!

Will Perry sign this bogus legislation?

It's not an attack on liberty to make it illegal to put other people's health at risk.

You cannot smoke virtually anywhere anymore anyways, except bars and nightclubs, because customers and management want it that way.

And many bars like flying saucer are non-smoking because their customers want it.

So vote with your dollar and simply don't go to places that allow smoking.

PS: If you call Dallas purgatory and your screen name is Getmeoutofhere, why not move to a state more fitting for your lifestyle choices? like California

OMG, is big bad Texas still talking about this?? Isn't this something that like just about every other state has already taken care of, BACK IN THE 90's?? People lets get with the program here. Just as you don't run naked along the freeway or say F U to a cop, you don't smoke in bars or restaurants--or anywhere else in public that isn't 15-20 feet any entrance to any building.

Isn't this just common knowledge to most of the country??

When did they make it illegal to run naked along the freeway?

But Eepstein running naked on the freeway and saying F U to a cop doesn't cause months and years of agony like the consequences of second hand smoking do. Cancer, bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema caused by second hand smoke is expensive and agonizing.

Yes, contact your legislators about any pending legislation that you think contradicts what Texas (and the United States, for that matter) stands for.

Our founding fathers must be rolling over in their graves. They expected the populace of this country to respect the freedoms of others and to take personal responsibility for their own problems, not expect the government to nanny them so they wouldn't ever have to grow up (or, apparently, ever have to die).

Thanks for bringing this proposed bill to my attention, ATXIronHorse. I'll be sure to call and write my representatives and let them know my support for this indoor smoking ban.
