I am relocating to Abilene in a couple of weeks and I have to find a daycare for my one year old son to go to. I have found an apartment at The Reserve in SW Abilene and my job is going to be on N. Willis St, so I would like to keep inbetween the two locations. However, every place that I have called around the Apartments do not have an opening. I did find a couple places up in the far NW Corner of Abilene - Tiny Blessings Childcare, and Anson Park Cild Care Center - they are on Jameson St., and Old Anson Road. Is this a good neighborhood???? Does anyone have some good references? It's out of my way but they are the only places that have said they had an open spot. Or does anybody know of someplace else that I should contact? I appreciate any help I can get!!

Generally speaking that is not a very good neighborhood. If I were you I would contact the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Child Care Center at 701 S. Pioneer Drive. I know people that take their kids there and they have a great reputation. It's about halfway from where you'll live and where you'll be working. If they can't help you, they can probably recommend some other good places that might have an opening (Google them for the phone number)

Thanks for letting me know. I actually looked at the Pioneer Drive web-site and I am planning on calling them tomorrow. Problem is that their web-site says they don't open till 7:30 and that is when I will have to be at work, so I will ask if they accept kids any earlier. Thanks again for letting me know about that area!
