That's the only realistic way to look at it. I'd rather try paying for the one that costs less in the long run vs. going directly to the most expensive. Unwanted pregnancies will never stop completely but we can at least try to prevent as many of them as possible. Expecting families to step up their "personal accountability" when they've shown no inclination to do so in the past is basically saying let's just send them straight to the WIC/Medicaid/Food Stamps line and skip any chance we have of preventing it in the first place.

And to anyone who says cut off the WIC/Medicaid/Food Stamps that's completely unrealistic as well. As soon as young mothers and their babies start suffering from/dying of malnutrition even the most staunch conservatives will bring those programs back in full force. Because civilized societies do not let those things happen.

So you think that government programs are the only thing keeping mothers and children from starving to death in America? lol We are one of the fattest nations on Earth, obesity is a much greater threat to the health of mothers and children than starvation is. But I agree that we will never get rid of those programs because they help keep the poor the way the politicians want them, feeling like they are dependent on the government and can't survive without it.

Maybe you can present us with a case history of a person who became pregnant through a) homosexual sex, b) oral sex, c) anal sex, or d)---I won't even go there..

Don't just ask if I'm serious. Present your case. This is a discussion forum.

This issue can all be fixed and prevented starting at the home. Parents need to quit being naive about their children's actions and behavior outside the home. Just because your kid say they're not having sex doesn't mean they're telling the truth.

It's those types of parents who think they know their children whose kids end up getting pregnant. Provide your children with the things they need to prepare and protect themselves from things such as STDS and pregnancy. That's what needs to be done.

I remember in Sex ED; instead of providing us with condoms. They gave us soap, deodorant candy and a stupid sex pamphlet.

You stated missionary was the "only position" from which one could get pregnant. There's also doggie, female on top, and about 20 other positions I can think of... I won't lay them out on here though (pardon the pun).
