As you may have guessed, I'm referring to Cooper's in both towns, but I've heard that the one in Junction is different in some way from the original in Llano. I've eaten at the one in Junction because it's convenient on road trips to Lubbock, and I think it's good, but what's the difference, if any? I've not driven through Llano.

Inmans in Llano is incredible. Their homemade bread, sliced brisket, cole slaw and of course world famous turkey sausage - the explosion of juices in your mouth is unforgettable. It's across the street from Coopers.

I have eaten at the one in Junction 3 or 4 times, and I did not like it at all. The meat was second rate at best, and the sauce was absolutely terrible -it tasted like a mixture of vinegar and tomato soup. Nowadays when I'm passing through Junction (which I do regularly), I go to Lum's. Much better!

I certainly hope the Cooper's in Llano lives up to its reputation.

Just go to Hard 8 in Brady. It's much better than Coopers.

Coopers in Junction plain sucks. I don't understand the fascination, but it's horrible. Both Llano and Brady have great BBQ.

Wow, funny thread resuscitation (completely forgot that I posted that!), but I finally tried Lum's in early 2014, and it was good. Had a parking incident where I backed into an illegally-parked flatbed trailer that I didn't see, but that's a different story. Had Cooper's again later that year (twice) because it was more convenient (yeah, Lum's isn't that far from I-10), but might not have it (Cooper's in Junction) again due to possible food poisoning both times. I too have made a lot of trips in that direction.

The bbq discussion in the Lubbock forum made me wish I could be there to try those places.

What sets them apart from a Coopers is their meat is as good or better and they have outstanding side dishes that others lack...
