jtur88: No, not yet, fortunately. I was thinking of August, which has to be my least favorite month. Stagnant air with pollution, heat and humidity...yecchh. I want to move to a drier climate.

You have noticed too? I think it's faulty instruments.

Every time I start to feel like this is a perfectly awful summer, I remind myself of 1980. That being said, today is no picnic, with an air pollution alert, little wind, and blazing sun. But it's still not like 1980!

Victoria just hit 100 for the second day in a row, breaking the record yesterday and tying it today. It's only 93 in the RGV at Brownsville and Weslaco, but 108 in Laredo. One personal station, about 5 miles out of Victoria, is now showing 105. Sugar Land, near Houston, is 102.
But the humidity is low, with dew point only in the mid-60s.

to be honest with you guys. it seemed in new york we had the most normal weather u can possibly ask for and it was just the way we were taught the weather with the months in kindergarten. it snowed like crazy in the winter, crazy april showers brought us may flowers. the first day of may was the first day i saw flowers blooming in my backyard. summer is very hot and when october hits well start seeing orange leaves and cooler weather. and possible another bad winter. all of this is actually kindof normal. people keep inmind its been so much worse. forget about hte dust bowl? although the news loves throwing that term around alot lately comparing the dry heat to the dust bowl when the dust bowl was worse!!!! and way worse! and we were in a terrible depression!

Since it's been drier, that logically makes it hotter (there's less humidity to slow down the temperatures as the days progress). Otherwise, it's not that much different - basically a few degrees above normal. Texas is always hot during the summer...
