Of course he'd be running against Obama because the Dem primary will be uncontested, minus someone from the left like a Kucinich.

So to answer the question, you'd vote for Perry if he got the Republican nomination....why is that so difficult?
It's not difficult at all. I answered the question as I saw it, so don't go making ASSumptions.

I don't see Perry surviving the Republican primary, not after all the political gaffes.

I've never voted for Perry before and don't plan on breaking the pattern.

If in the unlikely scenario where Perry wins the GOP nomination, he has my vote.

TBH, I don't think it's highly unlikely that Perry wins the GOP nomination. He has the charm and I bet Republicans in other states won't dig deeper on why Texas is doing good (in spite of Perry, not because of him). Huntsman is probably his biggest competition.

it will be interesting to see how so many people who mistakenly thought Perry knew how to handle a budget deficit and voted him into office again will react when this new budget with the school fiasco hits the fan this fall

running for an office house far from TX might be the only way to keep him from being trashed every time he goes out jogging

I vote in New Mexico so I've never cast a vote for Perry. I don't believe he has a chance of winning the GOP nomination but, in the next Presidential election, two broken legs and flat tires on my wheel chair won't keep me from the polls.

Hence my first phrase: they are all crooks. You are correct, and I don't like anyone using this slight of hand. The post that I replied to stated that Gov Perry was doing this, and I was just pointing out that Obama has also done it.

I have never voted a straight party ticket, and I never will.
Pretty easy to explain, I have more issues in common with Perry, than I do with Obama.

Remember when the tornado tore through downtown Fort Worth and Arlington in March of 2000? Four people were killed, 80 were injured, and damage estimates were as high as half a billion dollars.

Dubya was STILL GOVERNOR at the time, but he sent Perry to assess the damage because he was at a fundraiser for his presidential campaign. I lost all respect for him that day.
