This is a tough question.. I haven't even
voted yet. I think it really depends on what your interest's interests happen to be.

Default It really depends

Young college aged (18-27): Probably Austin. The Dallas and Houston metros have a higher population of students and people that age, but the college and universities are spread out in each. Plus, Austin is sort of the undisputed capitol of hipsterdom in the state.

Post college Yuppie (22-40): I think Dallas wins this category. Austin and Houston certainly have a lot to offer this crowd, but I think overall Dallas is more known for it's Yuppie culture. Unless you are working in energy or government Dallas offers more diverse entry level corporate job opportunities, and that will keep attracting young professions to Dallas's trendy inner core neighborhoods.

Sugar Daddies and Gold Diggers: Uptown Dallas or Midtown/UptownHouston.

AA's and their admirers (of any age): Dallas and Houston have so much more diversity than Austin. I'm going to crown Houston the winner in this category. More well known HBCU's and nightlife catering to the AA community in Houston IMO.

GLBT (of any age): Dallas by a big margin. One of the main reasons I've stayed in Dallas so long. Houston comes in second and Austin is a distant third.

Divorcee (35-60): Dallas from what I've heard. Especially North Dallas, Addison, Plano, and even Uptown now. I'm sure the other cities have opportunities too, but seems like Dallas divorcees get back on the prowl quick!

Cougars (of any age): North Dallas. There are tons of them in Dallas, so I'm guessing they're getting lots of dates here... I'm guessing Uptown Houston has them too.

Retired-older folks (55+): I'm assuming Austin would win this. When I visit Austin, it seems like everyone is either really young or past middle age. Plus, I think the slower pace of the city would be pleasant for them

People who don't like the fast pace of city life or competitive dating scene (of any age): Austin

I think that you can find anything you're looking for in any of the above. The stand out might be:

If you're under 27, Austin.

If you're gay, Dallas.

If you like a diverse selection of ethnicities, Houston but Dallas is also good here.
