The county roads are not maintained well and I am sure it is a funding issue. Off of TX-147 between Zavalla and Cassels-Boykin is Fun Drive which is a combination of of gravel, oil, asphalt. This road has been deteriorating at an unbelievable rate. The Corps of Engineers has allowed heavy equipment to use the road for to access a dead end road for logging. The rains have washed out the edges and it is actually difficult to know where the edge is.

The county school bus deteriorating puts children at risk because the road has become so narrow either the school bus has to move to the shoulder or the vehicle headed towards it.

Old dead pine trees lean over the road, a power line pole leans cabled over the road attempting to support the pole on the other side of the road. Trees lean over the road on one side.

Four months ago the county send in a two man crew and removed old asphalt and filled the holes with crushed concrete and I was told at that time they would be back in a month to resurface the road.

The closest we have had to any repair is about once every couple months a truck will show with a pile of asphalt and will toss a couple shovel fulls into a pothole at the turn off of TX-147 and that is all... because we have no choice but to drive over it and smooth it for them.

I am actually surprised the school system allows a bus on this road it is that bad.

Whomever represents this area should be canned.
