In 2 hours the whole storm was eaten up by dry air. I have never seen nothing like it in my life! WOW 2 hours!

It didn't even make landfall.

I know. The weatherman from the Weather Channel said this was our only hope. He said on August 13th I am going to be in Dallas because I know Dallas is going to break the 1980 record for the most consecutive 100 degree days. The record is 42 consecutive days we are at 28 consecutive days. They said next week suppose to be the hottest week. We might break records. The temps are predicted to be 106 degrees or higher. I thought I would never say this...............people please pray for rain! It's getting very serious. The City of Dallas might put us on water restrictions. The Trinity River is extremely low. I know the the Trinity is a smaller river but it's pretty low right now. If the river dries up there will be no more water.

This is from the Weather Channel

"Don becomes the first tropical system of the year to make landfall in the United States. The storm fizzled as it moved into Texas, which is bad news for a region that so badly needs rain."

No rain in McAllen. Just some clouds and a little sprinkle. What a disappointment!

You mean you're not even on water restrictions up there yet? And you call it serious?

We're already on boil water notices around this area. Hutto hasn't yet, but parts of Forest Creek in Round Rock are. I'm going to Tyler tomorrow and my dad said it's hellaciously hot and dusty dry there.

I'm not surprised the thing fizzled out really. Well, maybe that it completely disappeared so fast...but I knew it wouldn't do much of the state any good because it was nearly into Mexico when it made landfall.
