What data do you expect someone to post. We've already pointed out that there are serious natural disasters going on all over the country NOT just Texas. The heat dome was in place long before he declared, not to mention the ridiculous heat other states have experienced this summer. States that NEVER have 100 degree temps, unlike TX.

The problem isn't your map/data, the problem is what you said about it. A thinly disguised swipe at, I assume, the governor, and suggestion that this is a curse sent from above.

These politically-driven posts are polluting the forum, and I really wish mods would actually do something about cleaning them up.

I just want to get the hell out of here. This heat is just too much and on top of that the A/C running every 15 minutes has been sucking our wallet dry like you wouldn't believe. A few days ago I read about SWEPCO wanting to raise rates and all I could see was blood.

I want to get the **** out of here, to a place where I don't NEED to run the A/C 7 out of 12 months. Our car gets so hot and the A/C doesn't work because there is a crack in the pipes somewhere (Which the fantaaaaaaaaastic local Firestone never bothered to tell us. Wasted 50$ on coolant that day.). Anytime we take a drive I use ice packs to keep myself "cool". I'm about ready to go for a hang. I don't mean to offend anyone and I know how sensitive some can get when you say certain things about certain states. I have just about reached my limit is all.

I hear ya, but it looks like things are about to improve. A cool front will move through DFW on Sunday, and there may be no more 100-degree days, not next week at any rate. This has been an extraordinarily awful summer, and it can't go on much longer.

Perhaps it's the new Nuclear Waste Disposal Area near El Paso

The unemployment rate in Texas is 8.4% and that's nothing about which to boast. Yes, it's better than California, but it still ranks in spot #27.

Well, I've been here in Texas way too long and cannot wait for the day to move on to beautiful scenery and pleasant weather. Yes, this has been a very hot and dry summer, but all of the summers are horrible and never-ending, just not quite as bad as this one. Perhaps my move will happen before retirement, but perhaps it won't. I'm certain it will happen one of these years. I cannot do another summer here and either can my canine girls.

We've had 82 days of triple digits and 40 days of 90+ with the first 90 degree day beginning on April 1. Enough is enough already. Geez, 122 days over 90 degrees and we're not finished yet. That's over 1/3 of the year. It's nuts and the nights haven't been nice either. The air stinks like dust. Ick!
