Hi! I'm a mom of two kids, 7 and 5. My husband got 2 job offers- one in Livingston,TX and the other one at Lake Charles,LA. Can anyone tell me which place is more family oriented, with better schools, and overall a better place to raise a family?
Thanks for your help!

Livingston is a country area near lake livington north of Houston. Lake charles is kind of a medium city on I10 just east of Texas. Personally I'd pick Livingston to raise a family.much more overall. Family friendly and near enough to Houston for cultural museums etc.Be sure ansd loo at cit-data city infromatio page to see map and data on both. But remmeebr that the popualtio and other info is just for the town of livingston. There are really nice homes etc near the lake which easy commute.
