Dallas Cowboys reportedly order cheerleader felled by Witten to ax Twitter post - NFL - Sporting News

Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Kellerman became the latest member of her sideline company to make headlines Thursday when she was felled by Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. Apparently, according to a media report, the Cowboys weren't too happy with her comments afterward.

The team, according to CBNC's Darren Rovell, ordered Kellerman to shut down her Twitter account after she posted twice on the incident and drew whopping view numbers.

The Cowboys weren't talking, but other media sources were. Here's Rovell's take:

"Shame on the Cowboys for pulling cheerleader @MelissaRae off Twitter. Not allowing these girls to capitalize is criminal. If Cowboys don't trust the cheerleaders to speak for themselves, why do they even interview them for the squad?"

So what did Kellerman post on Twitter to tick off the Cowboys? Media sites posted these:

Apparently, tweeting about being grabbed by Jason Witten is out of bounds for Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. (AP Photo)
"I'm not the best at Jason Witten trust falls "

and

"Not hurtin' today, like some of y'all thought I would be! Our TE isn't as tough as he looks... That or I'm WAY tougher than I look. "

Pretty innocuous stuff, especially since everything else about the Cowboys cheerleaders gets exposed on the sideline each week, in pin-up calendars and in various video reality pieces.

The week before, cheerleader Kelci Reich took the national spotlight when the Cowboys played the Buffalo Bills. Reich's boyfriend, Bills wide receiver David Nelson, caught a touchdown pass and trotted the length of the field to give her the ball. Pigskin, after all, is a girl's best friend. Or something like that.

Kellerman is from South Carolina and is studying to become a teacher, according to Yahoo! Sports.

I think it is really silly for them to make her close down her account. Considering how benign her tweets were, it makes them look like petty control freaks.

People take notice to stuff like this when its Dallas because of all the negative publicity the team has had in the past. No news is good news with the Dallas Cowboys.

Everything from raping women, to drug abuse, to DWI's, to Jerry Jones getting trashed at the bar & talking **** about his own team on hidden camera.

Its all bad.

According to the noon local news, she took the account down on her own because she couldn't deal with the huge amount of respone it generated. Of course, that may not be true. In any case, it isn't that big a deal, is it?

Saw on the news last night where the cheerleader took down her Twitter account herself so she could have a quiet holiday weekend with family. Apparently with no suggestion or demands from the Cowboys organization whatsoever.

Nothing to see here folks....move along.
