Its astounding to me know people can keep bashing San Antonio even after a topic isn't about the city. It's sad because I have found the city to be just fine.

FYI, the city has started building bike trails and more fitness gyms have been built over the last few years so of course SA isn't going to make the list. The people have started paying attention and city management had been wary of what was happening before.

Cities with a higher percentage of Hispanics, such as SA are going to be fatter. The fatty foods they eat are very unhealthy.

It didn't make the list which surprised me too.

This is a rather disturbing statement:

"Despite its big city status, only 7% of Dallas residents' trips are taken by foot or bike, according to the Alliance for Biking and Walking".

At the rate illegals keep moving to Houston and Dallas, they won't be too far away from San Antonio's hispanic majority.

Hispanics are the majority in Texas now when you factor in all of the illegals.

Non Hispanic Whites make up 45% of the population in Texas, Hispanics make up 38%.

It's a little different.

Mexicans in Houston and Dallas tend be actually Mexican. Most are immigrants or 1st generation.

Mexicans in San Antonio tend to be Texans who are of Mexican background.

I'd love to share that information with you, but unfortunately the article does not provide it.

However, here is there Facebook page if you would like to ask them personally for a complete list.

Its a no brainer Austin would be at the top in Texas.

I cant help but think that concentration of Asians has something to do with it. Fort Bend, Collin, and Denton counties have the three highest Asian concentrations in Texas. Asians tend to eat foods that are more healthy and are much less overweight overall.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I wonder if it has anything to do with it.
True. It could be a mixture of healthy living plus certain demographics. It makes sense. I never fell for the lack of public transit = fat society.
