Check this new proposed district 33 Map it includes Southeast Fort Worth, Forest Hill, Everman, Crowley, Mansfield, and Arlington and parts of the northside of Fort Worth etc. The district is a whopping 66% minority. As soon as the map was posted it promoted Kathleen Hicks and Mark Veasley to announce they are running for Congress.

I am running too. I maintain a residence in that district.

Why isn't this in the DFW forum btw????

The most ridiculous one is 34 that stretches from Corpus to almost the heart of Houston

That Houston one looks like a swirling mess. lol At least the district 2 map does. Yea I should have put a statewide map but I had already made the thread before I had found the statewide map.

Its because Harris County is so large it can dole out whole congressional districts with left over people enough to add to outside districts.

District 18 is Sheila Jackson Lee's district. It has the historically black 3rd ward, The liberal Montrose, it skirts the more white area around Downtown and loops back to take in parts of 5th ward. And they don't consider this Gerrymandering they basically just bunched up the blacks and gays into one district.

District two is a poor district that got gerrymandered even more

PS, good job at deflecting my question in order to create a Texas thread from a DFW thread.
