I wonder if the British consulate in Dallas would be aware of any associations to which British expats in north Texas might belong. IME Brits are pretty scarce on the ground in Texas. I knew a few in Austin -- all English, though (with the exception of a Scottish Episcopal priest many years ago, no doubt now long-deceased). I've never met anyone from Northern Ireland in Texas, though I'm sure there must be some somewhere in Texas.

A lot of Texans are Ulster Scots/Scots-Irish, a couple hundred years removed that is.

That would be true for Southerners in general.

I like the society that is based in San Antonio. It is a small, yet noble group of like minded individuals. Plus, they put on a great Saint Patrick's Day festival down on the riverwalk. You should check it out if you cannot find anyone up North.

My guess is that there are likely to be significantly more people from the Republic than from the Six Counties living in Texas.
