I would personally recommend Fredericksburg over Kerrville. It is prettier more unique town and a quick drive over to kerrville.

In my opinion the hill country is the best place to live in the state of TX.

Kerrville is a great small town. population is just over 20,000. don't listen to the negative comments on this board. lots to do. river tubing, hiking, biking, all sports, housing is not really high like some are saying (fredericksburg is more expensive). all of texas is home school friendly.

Hi,

I am a single Mom living in Houston, TX and considering moving to Kerrville with my son and I am scared, but we need the change and I know it would be the best for my son and I and for our mental & physical health.

I lived in Houston for 34 years and have always wanted to leave. I have heard that Kerrville is a nice place, I have lived in Austin for 3 years and I have been to the Hill Country many times and found that I was always much happier and in peace out there. The hussle and bustle of Houston and the over crowdedness is just not for me anymore.

I am curious as to what the job market is like. I am currently a Massage Therapist part-time and also have my own Virtual Assistant business (virtual secretarial services) that I am trying to grow and I also own a Satellite Photo Art Gallery (hobby). What about middle schools? Can somemone recommend a reputable school? We love the outdoors and need a change or I will drown here. Any recommendations on rental homes or a nice apartment community will be greatly appreciated. If you can help, when I get there, I will buy lunch!

Recently went to Kerrville for the weekend. Beautiful area and people are very friendly. I live in SA where people do not speak to each other on the street. Everyone we passed spoke to us. Quiet, and relaxing town.
