So I moved from another state to Texas last June. I brought my car with me but I rarely use it, other than to go grocery shopping since I'm currently a grad student. I obtained a TX ID Card a month ago because I had planned on buying a handgun. But when I got it in the mail, the letter also mentioned that I have to destroy my out-of-state driver's license. However, I don't know how much longer I intend to stay here in TX. I will likely move back to my original state by this June. Is it really worth it to get my TX driver's license when in 4 months I'm likely just going to move out? Thanks

I agree with two4damoney. Just be aware you may be targeted with an out-of-state license when you are out in your car. As long as you have residence in another state, you are legal but I would carry proof of that residence in your car. If you do get a ticket, it will all be up to a local judge and my experience has not been good when you are from out-of-state.
