OK. Got it. Heard that one before I moved here in 1990. Got anything new?

I have lived here forever. It is people with your attitude that reflects poorly on this state. Yeah. close your eyes and wonder merrily along.

Since you are in the industry what do you think the fix is?

Throw more money at the problem?

Do away with the Bush no Child left behind?

Eliminate some of the overpaid non functional administrators.

Or simply have parents act like parents, raise their kids with some respect so the teachers dont have to baby sit and take their attitudes and foul language?

Any ideas?

Since I attended a fine school in this state I'd be glad to offer my response here.

Less money, everywhere.
Less Bush, everywhere.
Less overpaid admins, everywhere.

And yes, let parents take more responsibility for their 'spawn' and let teacher educate and grade accordingly. No child gets left out. If they need special education, I believe Senator Clinton and her crowd have some 'in service' options they'd like to offer. The participants can always get that GED afterwards, after learning the value of that education. Not like any of them plan on entering any 'intelligence' services.

Texas will have the most advanced highway system of any state in just a few years.

Trans-Texas Corridor

I love my Lic Plate.. its says TEXAS TRUCK. That to me is one of the coolest things ever.

Texas is making stirdes in Edgeumacation, yes I know its Education. Being as big as we are, we will fix our problems in Texas time... so relax. I want to also say that I have lived in Mississippi, and they have no special programs for students who need them. My Kids got a better education in El Paso Tx ( a school system I dont like ) than they have in Gulf Coast Mississippi... where Casinos pay a huge amount of the school systems needs. I never had to buy school supplies there, the schools supplied them.

I have lived in many other states, and everytime I have felt like a Texan, not a native.. I guess its a State of mind you can never escape. Even though I am a red headed step child in Texas being from El Paso.. I am still a Texan, and damn Proud of that fact.

Soon as someone cut down the brand of beer another guy drinks, I knew this thread was going to go south. Can't leave politics out of it.

Let's keep this thread light and easy-going like it was intended. You want to argue politics, take it somewhere else.

Before you judge me, do a search on my posts in other threads. I don't think you grasp the concept. But your intentions are apparently good so I applaud you for whatever your good intentions happen to be.

For the record, I love football and haven't voted for a Republican in 30 years. Did you expect I would be a generic redneck? This is the problem we have in our culture, the stereotyping, the assumptions we make based on very little information. And if you think I'm a football-loving Democrat, then you're wrong. If you think I'm a libertarian, you're getting warm. If you can handle the contradiction of "libertarian socialist" then you can understand my political views. They're rather eclectic.
