The decision by Google Inc. to expand its gigabit-per-second fiber-optic network to San Antonio could have a far-reaching impact on the region, igniting greater entrepreneurial activity and connectivity in a market perceived by some as less progressive than other major Texas cities.

Stalled Projects are Back on The Boards

Quote:
But now people are breathing again, and most (projects) are back on. Moreover, many of them are even expedited. To his amazement, even office developments are all systems go again.

Kurt says developers are back to being aggressive because they’re looking at multiple years of design and construction lead time, and because no one’s making new land—if you’re going to take advantage of the best sites, you need to do it now.

Houston Developers Defying National Percecption with New Projects

Quote:
It’s almost trendy in other parts of the country to talk about how Houston will fail and to forget trying to get financing, Hanover Co CIO Brandt Bowden says. But they’re all wrong, and Hanover could break ground on another apartment complex here this year.

...he’s been pleasantly surprised; operations have remained strong. There was a huge overhang of multifamily demand—especially inside the Loop—that bled into this year.

the 10 story Riva at the Park condo building broke ground today, completely sold out..

Quote:
Riva at the Park, located at 3331 D’Amico St. near Allen Parkway and Dunlavy Street, will be a 10-story, 29-unit high-rise overlooking Buffalo Bayou Park, one mile west of the downtown Central Business District.

The project, first announced in September, was originally slated to be a seven-story building with 22 units, but CEO Chris Sims changed his plans a few months later when the condos sold faster than he anticipated. The new floor plans range from 2,350 to 3,600 square feet and were priced from $800,000 to $1.6 million as of December.

All units have been sold, and the high-rise is expected to be completed next summer.

I get your humerous sarcasm.....FYI....this thread is about progress for the cities listed in the poll....I do agree it seems like another D vs H thread but its only because those two cities are always doing way more than anywhere else in Texas. So those cities will have more posts....Get ya weight up SanAntonio.....its a reason no one ever believes or cares that San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas.....its because its so hard to tell....POST THOSE PROJECTS and prove people wrong!!!....
