I only say this because in the past 3 years, Arlington has failed to do anything for that area.
The City of Arlington is not the party that would bring the "New Urban" development that I'm assuming you'd want to see in the Cowboys Stadium area. That would come from speculative investment by private developers and businesses. All of that type of development came skidding to a halt in the financial collapse, and is unlikely to return anytime soon.

Its hard to fault Arlington over this.

Lowest common denominator. Arlington gets pulled up a little from the stadium being built there but DFW gets no bang for the buck. Having an average team yet calling it Americas team shows major dilussion

But usually (not sure in this case), will offer development incentives to build around these areas.

Development incentives must have been exhausted from what they gave the Cowboys to build out there. Assuming built it and the others will come but they havent yet and in this economy may not for a good long while

Now, was THAT really necessary?

Stick to the script...

Traffic and transportation has to be the most important factor in this.

I drove through there the other night (I believe Monster Jam was going on), just sad how there's nothing to ease that just a little.

I wish it had been placed where the old Texas Stadium was. That was a great location.

I agree, when built there is may have seemed far out but it feels so close now. I flew into Dallas to see a game and was pleasantly surprised at how short a commute it was from Love Field. Time will tell if the move to arlington is going to stimuate growth there as the powers that be must have counted on to get this new stadium which is a beauty inside and outside. However, now the location feels a long ways off from many places in the metroplex

In a way I wish that Cowboys stadium had been built in Dallas, particularly over in the Fair Park or Uptown area as JJG suggested. It does seem a little out of place in Arlington. IMO, building it on the previous site of Texas Stadium wouldn't have been good. The parking over there was very inadequate. The new stadium is larger than Texas Stadium so there would have been even less parking.
