My husband and I have been researching areas in Texas to relocate. Currently in Boerne. Nice, but not what I have envisioned.

*** Would like to locate in a small city, town, or even a neighborhood within a larger city. Would like an art influence, perhaps a teaching hospital nearby or good medical facilities, inquireing minds, friendly folks, good restaurants and a College or University would be nice***

Areas in which to live where one might be able to walk to and get that cup of Java in the AM or a paper on the street.

Any suggestions? We are young 60-70's. Have not been there, but have been told that perhaps Tyler might be a fit. Comments please and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for listening and your time,
Joan

You might try looking at the Rice Village area of Houston. The village is an area of shops and restaurants aimed at pedestrians with a nice old neighborhood surrounding it. It is adjacent to Rice University, the medical center, and the museum district.
