Its an attitude that makes Texas unique. A love of personal freedom, big cities with pickup trucks and gun racks for use wild life hunting, upscale restaurants with Tx influenced cuisine. A global energy capital bring people in from all over the world and very diverse which bi coasters dont now and we dont care if they do or not. A big land full of contrasts where big city and small town live side by side as do the diverse citizens of its cities. Its a place where you can get a job and afford a home in this messed up economy. Texas is disliked by many especially those so cultured... but loved by most citizens. No one asks me "what are you in Tx like they did in Pa and NJ. Its home and that says it all to me.

Yeah, and when Texas was an independent republic France opened a diplomatic legation in Austin. It's still there, just east of downtown, the oldest residence in Austin.

We still have cowboys who work and live the same way they did 100 years ago. “A Day in the Life of a West Texas Cowboy” drew a quote from renowned West Texas author Elmer Kelton saying, “A common man in an uncommon profession, giving more than he receives, living by a code of conduct his detractors will never understand.”

The Texas Lone Star is unique. You see it as a design motif everywhere... on bridges and buildings and shirts and boots and lawn ornaments and coolers and coffee cups and fences and doors and you name it.

Ribeye steaks. It's almost impossible to find them outside of Texas!
I don't know where you can't find ribeye steaks. They're routine at any good restaurant around these parts.
