Can someone tell me if Central Texas - around Ft. Hood and Gatesville - is humid? I lived in East TX many years ago. I remember it as being humid. I was thinking of moving back to TX because I loved it there - but looking for a less humid area.

Thank you.

Can get humid from time to time but not as humid as East Texas. I think it's less humid than when I lived in Kansas City or Chicago but that's just a guess on my part.

I've lived in Angleton (East Tx) and I am from Copperas Cove (which is next to Fort Hood) and, although there are period of high humidity, it is not near as bad as East Texas. Central Texas will be noticeably dryer than the East.

Angleton is in Southeast Texas / Gulf Coast, which is the epitome of humid.

Central Texas is usually humid to people from the arid & semi-arid west, and dry to people from the Gulf Coast. It lies in a transition zone.
