teatime, say what?

This is so exciting! I can believe the temps will lower, but I can't believe North Texas could get snow in October. This must mean up in the Panhandle, and not the Red River counties along the Oklahoma border.

Red face Not Abilene

I live in Abilene too, and we really don't have seasons here either. It is really hot in the summer which can last until November, and then it gets cold, no fall weather, and then it is hot again by March. I understand because we are wanting to move somewhere that has seasons too. Good luck.

Try Northeast Texas. I used to live in that general area - Palestine/Athens/Henderson/etc. - and I distinctly remember seasons, and even the fall leaves turning colors (reds and golds, mostly, with the evergreen of the pines for emphasis). Not much in the way of snow, but it got cold in winter - a lot colder than San Antonio, anyway!

I would suggest moving up to northern maryland. We have all 4 seasons and they are all very pretty with lots of different sceanery. Fall is especially wonderfull up here with its crisp, cool air, and outstanding color displays on the trees; red, orange, gold, bright yellow. Up here the shortest season is spring. It is mid April-late May. Then summer, early june-mid/late August. Next comes fall(or autumn), this is mid/late August-mid november. Last comes winter. Winter starts in mid november, and ends in mid april. Last year we got snow on april fools day, we have gotten a couple of blizzerds as well, but don't worry, its not alaska up here. Its slightly warmer near thr ocean, and slightly cooler near thr appalation moutians. I realize that this is about1400 miles away from texas, bring your son with you! Its completly worth it. It would also be a new and exciting experience for you and your son! I hope this helped.

I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone episode when everyone is burning hot and then at the end, the person wakes up and is in the Ice Age

To find the harshest cold weather in the state in winter, I agree, it is the panhandle. Try Dalhart!

Of course, I am one of those who doesn't feel that it needs to be -20 or colder in order for it to be cold enough to be winter. Teens or single digits are cold enough for me.

Problem is it's Maryland. Been there, done that for several years. It would be nice if TX wasn't as hot as much. But I wouldn't trade it for most places in the US.

We're going into 21 days in a row of over 100 degrees. That's how hot it can get here
