True. I'm about to become house bound for next six months

As for the above question, it will NOT be as bad as last year, but yes it will get hot. Last I checked this was Texas, not Chicago.

I think that the rainfall that we got will help keep the temps down a bit, and this year shouldn't be as dry as last year, so that will help as well. But with rain comes humidity.......
In 2007 we never reached 100 degrees here in central Texas. We had around 50 inches of rain and we also had ice in the hill country in April of that year....best year I can remember in a long time.

I agree with your summer weather prediction.

I remember that April.

So far, we've had relatively mild weather along with more rains than usual in the Panhandle.

Might wanna recheck your data concerning this particular year. And I'm not quite sure about you, but to many, it don't have to make it up to 110 degrees to be considered HOT.

Okay, 1998 was nearly as hot as last year. As for the rest, the question was whether this summer is going to be an extreme one like last year, not if it's going to be a bit hot. I've mentioned before I don't go out much when it gets over 95 degrees, but I'd rather have a couple of weeks of that than over a month in the 100s like last year.

Why does it seem like far eastern states keep hogging up all the rain and milder temps? I'm longing for some overcast weather right now.

My guess is pretty much a rerun of 2011, just not as bad. We've had a little more rain in Lubbock, but not much more. We had some rain over the winter, which we didn't have last year. Winds haven't been as bad as last year, but weather conditions are still not even close to being "normal", if you can categorize normal out here.

I agree. You said it before I could but I voted "other" because of the extra moisture we've had.

Anything till 94 F is okay for me with the kind of humidity we have in Dallas (which is moderate, I would say. It's not as bad as Miami or Houston, yet not as low as in, say, Phoenix).

Unfortunately the highs were >95 F for more than three and a half months last year. So not much hope for this year either. 2010 was much better in retrospect...
