East Texas is the best part of Texas. I miss that area.

This whole area of southeast texas is horrible! People are mean, rude and form cliques. I honestly miss west/central texas where people were a lot nice and friendlier.

East Texas is part of the Deep South culturally. You honestly couldn't tell if you were in E. Tx or Alabama/ Mississippi. That's my take.

That's exactly the way I felt, period! I lived in MS a short time (nightmare), and the culture shock was just as bad in either MS/ET!!

But Cathy, didn't the lack of boiled peanuts make you feel right at home in West Texas?

LOL!! I always feel at home in West Texas, regardless......

I never had an opportunity to try boiled peanuts in either MS or ET......just never came up at all, and I saw no roadside stands, etc!

I was just REALLY glad when I lived in MS that pinto beans and Mexican food staples were available at the local supermarket!!

LOL! I know! All in good fun!

The teasing between ET and WT is always funny, as they are worlds apart. I imagine when people from ET get to WT, they go, "OMG, how can anybody live in this barren desert?!?"

Then the WT people get to ET...."My gawd, I feel so closed in with all of the trees, especially those lining the highway! I can't SEE anything....and the humidity is killing me!"

I have to admit that the desert isn't for me, but like anyone should be able to, I can certainly appreciate the beauty of it.
