In other sports news, the city approved the 25 million dollars to renovate the Cotton Bowl. The historic stadium will get new club seating, historically appropriate facades on the end zones, a rebuilt press box, upgraded concourses and improved concessions.

This isn't even a contest. Houston is little league compared to Dallas sports. But congrats on feeling special that your soccer team plays downtown. [pity clap]
Even though it may not happen anytime soon (or at all), there are plans to put some sort of entertainment/sports venue in Fort Worth's redeveloping Near Southside neighborhood. Just a hop-n-skip away from Downtown.

If I had my way, that would be the future home of the Fort Worth Officers.

Yeah its too bad Houston's teams are located in the urban center of everything & Dallas' are practically in Fort Worth & Oklahoma. Such a shame.

Typical Dallas mindset. The Cowboys have been irrelevant since the mid 90's dude. Today they are the laughing stock of the NFL. Nobody respects them anymore like they did in the 70's & 80's when Tom Landry was running the show, & 90's with Jerruh Jones before the plastic surgery.

So you're calling two Houston play off teams little league? The Texans & UH?

The Houston Rockets were one of the first NBA teams to embrace drafting in players from other countries. That right there shows how much more worldly Houston is then Dallas.

Thats why Houston will always be #1 in Texas, its international. Its geographical location alone will always give it the upper hand on just about everything. Hell Dallas (Not Dallas and Fort Worth Combined) is still behind San Antonio in population. Houston is a true American and international city. Dallas is a Texas Stereotype. Dallas has Texas on its mind while Houston has the world. And space.

Cool story, Metro Matt. Meanwhile, in reality, the Cowboys have been to the playoffs four times in their worst decade ever compared to the one time the Texans have been in their history. There are no playoffs in college football and UH went to some mediocre bowl game that TCU laughs at. And the Rockets haven't been relevant in over a decade while the Mavericks just hoisted a championship trophy one year ago.

Sorry, but there are many areas that Houston outshines Dallas at. Sports is not one of those areas, and it's an embarrassment seeing Houstonians trying to compare their sports scene to Dallas's. There is a reason that ESPN chose Dallas/Ft. Worth as one of their 5 regional homes and not Houston. Yes, Houston is little league compared to DFW when it comes to sports.
