I like them. My husband and I were so happy to not be in Texas when the 2009 variety came out. He always said if we ever moved back, we had to get specialty plates. They look like one of those tacky things you get airbrushed at the State Fair, with your name and SO's inside a heart.

Pretty much my exact view. I hated everything about the 2009 plates. The new ones are simple but they are classic. Easy to read. Thumbs up.

I love them. The high blue ones made we want to throw up. The simpler the better.

Default Texas sends a message, where boring!

Typical of Texas plain & no imagination. 4 years ago DPS had 4 plate designs on their website and allowed every Texas citizen to vote on. The Franklin Mountain design won overwhelmingly. Now on it's own and with no say from the people, the Texas govt. brings back its time machine an offers one of the worst looking license plates in its transportation history, black & white. Really? Why, because law enforcement can't recognize it's own state's general issue license plates? Get your eyes checked. If you wanted to "help" law enforcement would it have too much to ask too at least go the the Texas "big red" design. You remember, Texas in red, blue numbers, the Texas silhouette in red, on a white background, you know like the colors of the state flag? I won't be putting these hideous plates on my wheels. No Way!

I'm happy with the change.

Last time I had to get plates I opted for the Lone Star Black plates instead of the overly colorful ones.

I'll probably stick with my black plates for a while, but if I had to get standard plates they atleast wouldn't look so ugly.

They're beautiful, I love them. The first one I saw had a very definite 1950's look.

It's been a long time since I saw something new that was actually an improvement.
