I'm rather glad he did. I happen to value the Civil Rights laws on the books over the Solid South. He did the right thing, even if it cost him a giant voting bloc of the party.

LBJ was such a bleeding heart ULTRA-liberal that I choke on it even thinking about him all these years later....and no, I wasn't old enough to vote for him.

Civil Rights were fine--the "Great Society" crap he endorsed was absolutely not. Welfare handouts out the wazoo, and we have that crazy old reprobate to thank for it.

Ugh. Quicksand.

Interesting article dated August 15 on the Sadler site:

Paul Sadler for U.S. Senate

Sadler will be getting my vote.

Funny, I just found out that Ted Cruz's real name is "Rafael Edward Cruz" = Another "Barry"?

I used to vote pretty much entirely for the Democrat. This Texas Senate election I voted for Ted Cruz twice. Ron and Rand Paul endorsed him and those are the two politicians that seem to be the most intelligent and honest these days. The Democrat Party has lost all common sense and seems to be supported by naive drama queens who have no substantive argument and rely entirely on demagoguery. It's gotten pathetic.
