Right MTV isnt the go to spot for good music anymore... since they hardly play any real music. But god forbid they highlight a spot in texas thats known throuhgout the world for a respectable and credible indie and academic music scene.... Denton Texas.

So while MTV sux.... Denton doesn't. How many towns in Texas drive enough musical/artistic power and interest that can get the number one American cable television network to take notice? ( Austin isnt a town. Houston isNT a town. Only other area in texas besides Austin that has a respectable indie music scene is Denton anyways.)

As a result of Midlake's (a Denton band) success oversees (europe) and throughout the indie and popular music circuit in the nation MTV decided to do a spot about Midlake showing off their home town.

I think the national exposure will be a good thing, Jabbit. Besides, I'm sure there are record producers looking for new talent, and they may just be watching. And there's probably someone on the local scene who might want to advance in the music business. So, this may accomplish two things.

I hope so man. Some People around here love to keep the greatness of Denton to themselves... a secret. Because if word gets out they fear Denton not being Denton anymore much the same way Austin was changed by the exposure hype.

But yeh... i think you are right. Denton should be landing more folks or music reps from the outside who will be looking for bands to expose.
