it has absolutely nothing to do with challenging an officer's authority.

it has to do with safety. an officer has no idea who you are, what kind of person you are, or what your intentions are... all they know is you have a firearm.

And people don't know what kind of guy the officer is either. What's your point? Just because he has a badge he can OC and a citizen can't?

This is ridiculous and simply NOT true! This is YOUR projection....most people whom carry tend to be much less confrontational....they understand the increased level of liability...

...Or are you talking about CRIMINALS CCing? ...Yeah I could see it then, they don't care about consequences or liability.

It's very much true. I see it all the time. The same reason "road rage" is so common. If someone is armed and they don't know if you're (they just assume you aren't) they become far more "assertive."

No. Texas shouldn't pass an open carry law.

They should recognize constitutional carry and remove all laws legislating a right we already have...

That's quite frankly bull ****.

Having been involved in Open Carry groups I have yet to see this happen at all.

Then you haven't lived, my friend. Because I see it all the time.

It's human nature. When they feel safer, they act tougher. Why people are more likely to be assertive from their car or on the internet. You can deny reality all you want.

^^^ Great, link to a news article of this happening! Or are you building straw men here?

If you SEE IT ALL THE TIME then YOU are hanging out with the wrong people! ....It's on YOU!

Gosh! I could IMAGINE everyone walking around treating the armed person like a god...but that wouldn't really be accurate either...these types of straw men are disingenuous in debate.

BTW the contraction YOU'RE was misused in your post. In this instance it's correct to either say: "you are" or "you're armed". as you wrote it leaves the sentence open to WHAT you are is referring.

What the hell are you talking about? Do you know what a strawman is? And if I missed a contraction, sue me. I type fast and this is the internet.
