I have only lived out here in TX for a few years but have always wanted to watch a High School football game here because there are so many nationally ranked teams and heated rivalries.

I know that last year, Lake Travis, Allen, Katy, Longview, Lamar (Houston), Carroll (Southlake) and Trinity (Euless) were the top teams. Who are the top teams now? I would like to watch some of the big match-ups this year in the playoffs, no matter what part of the state that they are in.

Watch Katy, they look more like a good college team, very disciplined and pro style offense. They are blowing out the playoff teams played thus far....let us know how it goes when you see a game

Yes, they are!

I watched them play a month ago for my friend who attends there. It was a bad game for them even though they killed the opponent big time, it was crazy. I forgot who it was.

I wish that Katy and other Texas powerhouses would play my HS archrival in HS football Webb City. Of course, I think that Webb is too scared to face the likes of Katy, Lake Travis, Southlake Carroll, in their non-conference games b/c they know that they will get their behinds kicked.

Webb City (along with my alma meter Carthage HS) should be class 5-A by now, but for some reason, MSHAA hasn't upgraded them yet. Yes Webb won the class 4 title this year but outside of Ozark and Carthage, Webb City didn't play anyone that could actually beat them.

I know for a fact that many of the good TX schools would eat Webb City alive; however unlike other SW MO. coaches, John Roderique is too cowardly to play someone who might be able to beat the crud out of his team.

Well I know Longview beat Dallas Jesuit this past weekend. But one of our star players is out for the remainder of the playoffs. So I don't know if that's going to lower our chances of going to state this year.

My high school (West Orange-Stark) used to be 5A up until the late 80's but have dropped to 3A within the last 5 years or so. That being said, they have the highest winning percentage of all schools in the state 1A through 5A. When they were 4A, they regularly beat top ranked 5A schools, and this year as 3A they beat 3 4A schools. They were nationally ranked in the early 90s when they were still 4A, I believe. It's possible they may face an old nemesis again in the 3A playoffs - one of the top Texas teams in the 90s if not the best overall - Lamarque. Lately they haven't gone very far in the 3A playoffs, but hopefully this year it will change

If you are in Dallas and just want to watch a game you should get yourself over to the Birdville ISD stadium this coming Saturday at 6 pm to watch the Southlake Carroll vs Euless Trinity playoff game. Both teams are perennial powerhouses in this state and it should be a good one. The game is over in North Richland Hills just a couple miles west of DFW airport. Both these two teams have huge fan followings and it should be an interesting experience.
