Try South Texas as mentioned as well as Midland / Odessa area. There is a boom going on in North Dakota as well. Note both Midland and ND areas are challenges to find housing because of the boom. Good luck

If you do go into that field save most of the money you make. The oil and gas bust and boom cycle is extremely brutal. During the last downturn we lived off of savings for about a year.

It's not as pronounced especially now. Eagle Ford is commute distance from Corpus Christi and San Antonio both which have a lot of housing and hotel rooms. At the peak several years ago it was pretty bad but I've since seen them actually removing some of the mobile man camps in the center of the activity along I-37

The Midland/Odessa/Hobbs NM area is booming. Yes, save your money because you will make a lot but as others have said, the busts can be brutal.
