Dude. I thought you realized that being totally forthcoming with what you wanted these pics for was the right thing to do?

absolutely.
i was planning on using them for my nonprofit armature documentary. But in all honesty it's really more out of curiosity. i wasn't going to do anything bad with them at all. it's going to be dedicated to all the people who lost their lives. nothing disrespectful or anything.

You should contact a new station that covered the tornado. Someplace local. Maybe a high school nearby has pictures, especially during the year of the tornado. (My yearbook had photos from a local fire). It's possible.

i was just looking for pictures of the houses before the tornado hit. i wanted to see what they all looked like. not sure if the news station would have them (unless some other news story occured in the double creek estates before the tornado)
you think Jarrell High School would have pictures of those houses?

Or, does anyone know the names of the companies that constructed the original houses on double creek estates back then? perhaps they may have photos of the houses.

Would the local library have information? You'd think a tornado would be documented, both before and after. That's a huge news event. As you page through maybe you'll find what you're looking for.

i never thought of that but i'll try. i like pretty far away from Texas (im in wisconsin) but i could hitch a ride there and check to see if the library has any pictures of double creek estates before the tornado.

I only found 1 picture of the Moehring's house before the tornado, but nothing else besides that.

There is no library in Jarrell as yet, though we are in the process of getting one started (I'm on the Board).

The closest libraries are in Georgetown and Salado.

Remember, you're talking about a very tight-knit town of some 800 people at the time. It is entirely possible that no such photos exist.
