Just saw a link to this video on the Hill Country FB page. This should be mandatory viewing for anyone who comes here asking silly Texas stereotype questions:

True.

I'm tired of people ragging on our schools, too. I had a great education in Texas, as did my kids for the past 3.5 years. Now we're in Colorado, and I am so disappointed in the schools here. But I swear the people here think schools in Texas are horrible. Someone here actually told me that she heard that teachers in TX don't have to be certified. SMH

What's even more annoying is the people who live here and still hold onto and exagerrate these stereotypes.

I can say, though, that I've lived outside the state, and I never really missed HEB. They have Blue Bell in Georgia, and that's all that mattered.

They had Blue Bell in Southern NM, but I haven't been able to find it up here near the CO line.

Other ice cream just doesn't exactly hit the spot, when you're used to BB.

No? I have to say that when we lived in CO 2005-2009, there was no BB. We just moved back in June and it's here in the Denver area and I think COS, or so my friends say.

Come to think of it, did you find it near a military installation in S NM? Those displaced Texans are lobbying for their BB.

Must be the much larger places, as Denver and COS are.

I'll check again the next time I'm in Durango!
